How Do You Harvest Microgreens?

Harvesting microgreens from our Living Flats is a straightforward process that allows you to enjoy these nutritious and flavorful mini plants at their peak. Here's a quick guide:

  1. Timing: Microgreens are typically ready for harvest when they reach a height of 1 to 3 inches and have developed their first true leaves. This usually takes about 7 to 21 days, depending on the variety.

  2. Tools: You'll need sharp scissors or small shears for harvesting.

  3. Technique: Carefully snip the microgreens just above the soil line, ensuring you don't damage the delicate roots. Harvest in small batches as needed to keep them fresh.

  4. Storage: Store harvested microgreens in a container with a lid in the refrigerator. Use them within a few days for the best flavor and nutrition. The entire Living Flat can be kept in the refrigerator, but watch our for cold spots in your fridge!

Harvesting microgreens is a simple and rewarding task that allows you to enjoy the freshest and most vibrant flavors in your salads, sandwiches, and dishes.
